Before getting divorced, Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied revisited their romance
Natalie Portman is currently in the process of rediscovering her true passions. After quietly separating from her husband of 11 years, Benjamin Millepied, eight months ago, the couple has recently finalized their divorce in France.
Natalie splits her time between France and Los Angeles, where she continues to pursue her acting career. A representative for Portman confirmed the news on March 8th.
Speculation surrounding their separation had been circulating for several months, even before the divorce was officially announced. Reports suggested that Benjamin had engaged in an affair last year, which led to the breakdown of their marriage. However, Natalie chose not to address these rumors directly, stating in a recent interview with Vanity Fair that she had no desire to contribute to the gossip surrounding her husband’s alleged infidelity.
Natalie and Benjamin, who have two children together named Aleph and Amalia, first met on the set of the film Black Swan in 2009. They got married in 2012, a year after the birth of their son, in a beautiful ceremony held in California. Despite their separation, they will continue to co-parent their children and navigate their individual paths moving forward.
During the 2011 award season, Natalie secured both the Oscar and Golden Globe for her remarkable portrayal as a ballerina. Throughout her speeches, she shed light on her previously undisclosed relationship.
Notably, in her acceptance speech for the Best Actress Oscar, Natalie, who was expecting a child at the time, expressed gratitude to Benjamin for granting her “the most significant role” in her life. Additionally, Natalie revealed that encountering her former spouse through the critically acclaimed film held greater significance than receiving the esteemed accolade.
