After learning that he had cancer, King Charles “reduced to tears”
After learning that he had cancer, King Charles has received an overwhelming amount of support. He told British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak that he has been “reduced to tears” after reading the cards and letters that have been sent.
On Wednesday, Charles had his weekly meeting with the prime minister, Sunak, for the first time since the latter declared he would be cutting back on his public appearances to concentrate on his health.
Prior to his meeting with the prime minister, he also convened an in-person meeting of the privy council.
Before their state meeting, the two men were seen joking about and exchanging pleasantries in a video that Buckingham Palace shared.
“It’s amazing to see you looking so good,” Sunak said with joy in the video.
“Mirrors do everything,”
The palace announced earlier this month that Charles, 75, had been diagnosed with a form of cancer, less than 18 months into his reign.
