What will the iPhone 16 be like: a new camera unit and design in the style of the 2017 iPhone (photo)

It is assumed that the smartphone has lost its square protrusion and will more closely resemble the Nothing Phone.

It’s surprising that there are about eight months left before the announcement of the iPhone 16, and several design options for the future device have already appeared online – and many reputable insiders are talking about a change in appearance. The publication Macrumors told what the base model of the new iPhone will be.

The renderings are based on fresh leaks and drawings. Judging by them, Apple may remove the square protrusion of the camera block, leaving only two round lenses. They will be positioned vertically like the iPhone X or Nothing Phone.

The source writes that thanks to the vertical placement of the camera, Apple will introduce spatial video recording into the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16+ models. Since the iPhone 15 has a diagonal camera module arrangement, it is not capable of shooting such videos. This feature is currently limited to iPhone 15 Pro models and the Vision Pro headset.

In addition to the redesigned camera bump, the iPhone 16 will feature an Action button that’s exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and a new Capture button. With its help, users will be able to adjust zoom and focus, as well as start video recording.

As for the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, no major design changes are expected, but for the first time in many years they will increase in size . Future firmware will have 6.3- and 6.9-inch displays, respectively: thus, the 16 Pro Max will more closely resemble a mini-tablet.

It is expected that the larger body will allow the periscope to fit into the 16 Pro’s body. It’s because of the 15 Pro’s size that Apple made this camera innovation exclusive to the 15 Pro Max. Also, the new sizes will allow the installation of larger and longer-lasting batteries.

In the meantime, Apple is preparing for a spring presentation at the end of March, at which it will present new laptops and tablets. If the rumors are true, the iPad Pro will receive the biggest upgrade in the last 5 years, but the price will also increase significantly.
